Friday the 13th Thoughts

Posted July 13, 2007

Greetings to all! What is it about rain, Friday, or just being caught up on your work that makes ya wanna do a little blogging? Got a lot randoms for ya, but that's what I do!

Was in the pool the other day @ an apartment. After about 15 minutes the maintenance guy starts doing his chemicals thing. Now I don't know much about pool up-keep...never had to do it. But I started thinking more about it, and thought, "OK, I've been swimming around since before he started messin with the water. So, either it was unsafe at the beginning of my swim, or he's gonna screw something up and my skin's gonna break out or fall off!" I assume since I'm still alive, it was ok. But don't think I didn't threaten him! "If I die, I'm gonna sue you!"

I've found myself living vicariously through people recently when they start talking about their vacations, trip to the lake, something fun like that. Do you do that too? or am I just weird and really need to do this fun stuff myself?! (OK, don't answer that)

Why do cords get twisted even when you don't intentionally twist them? I keep my phone charger plugged in beside my toaster (I love to phone the psychic while toasting a bagel--is that so wrong?) So the other day, I go to unplug the charger and both cords are just as twisted as...well I can think of lots of twisted things. But you know? Why do that do that....not like I just sat there and jumbled 'em all together on purpose. Sure there's some scientific explanation...

I mentioned earlier I'd share this story of one of my Indian neighbors. So we were in the workout room a few weeks ago and he was doing his yoga type breathing and stretching. That's cool (I don't do it) but some people do. But then he started telling me what to do, how to stretch, etc. I thought, "Wow, uhm, don't really have time for this or want to" but didn't wanna hurt his feelings and thought it might actually feel good. But when he started telling me how his deep, loud (and annoying!) breathing was cleansing out his stomach and esophagus and that if you do it right you should smell the gases from your tummy and other stuff (blahh!) I decided I'd stick with my regular routine :)

Made my first trip to the Big Dam Bridge this week. Beautiful! Didn't have time to walk its entirety (I was there for a business deal) I plan to go and enjoy a jog maybe in the evening or early fall. Which brings me to---ahhh! Arkansas Razorback football! I'm so super pumped. 1st game--September 1. Fall in Arkansas is my favorite. And Razorback football is one of the reasons. And the smells, food and Halloween too :)

New tv is working great. I just need to find the button that lets you go back/forth b/tw 2 channels instead of typing in the channel # every time. I think my remote doesn't have one. Maybe it was the warehouse's dud that day.

I'll sign off, telling you some things I've been enjoying this past week:

Arkansas home-grown tomatoes from the farmers' market

my hair (a little mousse and spray work wonders when washing isn't an option!)

my new Mary Kay Cream & Sugar lip gloss

seeing pics of my niece Ava at church camp

the smell of sunscreen

watching Regis and Kelly

Now, go back to our homepage, watch all the videos, read the stories and fall in love with SYNC...I've got to go get ready for the Weekend Theater and Peabody RoofTop Party...see you out!

I love fresh tomatoes, fresh off the vine or from an outside stand at room temp with a salt shaker, and salting it and eating them like an apple...Great summer memory...
