Off to a Great Start!

Posted June 19, 2007

Yep, I've only blogged once since being a member of the SYNC staff; thought it past time to give an update. You'd think it's been more than 6 weeks I've been here: my to-do list is long, phones are ringing, but things are going great!

Now to business: I'm going to make this quick but interesting and informative. Once I get this review done, I can be more frequent to let you know what's going on where I am!

Friday, June 8: 2 "cultural" events in the metro. First stop: Edgefest! In the crowds I saw: happiness, drunkenness, fights, making out, singing, rolling and ROCKING out as the bands put on an awesome show, rains held off (but the clouds made for some cooool pictures!) Great night for an outdoor rock concert. Then I walked (I know, I know--my grandmothers would have a stroke) over to the ArtsScene Art Gallery for their "2nd Friday Art Party" ATTENTION: this was so cool! I found a little "hidden treasure" in North Little Rock. Every 2nd Friday of the month: $10 at the door gets you in, ALL your art supplies provided (canvas, paint, clay, nude model) wine/beer and a DJ. Recommend checking it out soon. John and LeAnn were so hospitable too!

Won't detail every event: you don't care and I don't have time! But some highlights: The Rep's "Full Monty" party, Markham St. Pub & Grill, Lulav and a trip to a soup kitchen! Little Rock's Juneteenth was Friday June 15. For the most part, I was safe and people were cordial. Unfortunately I didn't get to stay the entire 6 hours. Dang. On to the A-List Party at the newly rennovated Markham 801. This red-carpet event was cool...and I did stick out like a sore thumb (I think) but still enjoyed it. Of course you can see all of my activities captured in our photo galleries online. In other news, in the midst of all that: I shot a commercial, got a new ride, was in a fashion show, broke my t.v. and made a quick trip home for Father's Day. Oh, and got my hair did :)

A fun blog is coming soon: that's what blogs are supposed to be about...right? Random stuff. Including 2 recent encounters with Indian neighbors, eye-catching signs I've seen, and some feelings about stuff.

On the menu: a SYNC Night Out @ the Travs' game in late July

Get ready to move over...that cool car passing you by is the NEW SYNC car! It's a sweet, black HHR donated by Gwatney Chevrolet and it's hot! Also, watch for our promo spot to begin running on KARK (Ch. 4 in Little Rock) in the next few days!

Signing off for now!

Lauren
