Bathroom stalls, tae bo, and fake cops...
Posted January 30, 2008
January's done...where'd it go? But then, where does every day go? A reminder to enjoy every single day, nobody's promised forever.
Now, no more serious stuff like that... just some thoughts I wanna share.
There's a stall in the office's upstairs bathroom and a little secret (I like to think; obviously after this it won't be such a secret) in the farthest stall from the door, wanna guess what's there for entertainment while you're T.C.O.B. ? Those little word magnets! And not just one collection...more like 6...so you could write an entire short story while...well, you know.
I do tae-bo and kickboxing. Yes, I'm small but I do it and enjoy it. LOTS of thinking happens while punching and kicking to my VHS or my new DVD! And Billy Blanks would be proud: the other day during my cool-down I noticed a ball from my belly button ring had come off. That's how intense I was! The new Denise Austin DVD? She just cracks me up because she's nothing but an off-beat cheerleader during the entire workout.
That reminds me (the body piercing)...I stopped in 7th St. Tattoo a few weeks ago to visit those friends. They're nothing but fun, friendly and hospitable. I got pierced and the video's on our site. But just a shout out to them. Keep up the good work, great body art and fun times.
Why do some people buy old cop cars then repaint (or cover the black or blue stripe) but leave the scary light on the side mirrors? That just ticks me off...slowing down when I don't have to? grrrrr. Not to mention how stylish those cars look, right?
For you myspace fans: Why send messages that say "thanks for the add" ? Much less, take the time to send a little glittery graphic to say it? You know what I think? Whether you or the other party sent the add request, it's like saying "Hey. Thanks for taking a second to (maybe) look at my page, realize you know me from 9 years ago or from the bar Saturday night and clicking your mouse on the 'yes' button only to make yourself look 1-more-friend-popular."
Saw a flier today for a new food joint. One line above their menu items says "eat healthy". The foods listed? Polish Sausage, chicken wings, fried chicken and I don't remember what else. I was too busy walking away laughing.
I go lots of places. I just do. Whether it's my "free" time or whether for work, I frequent many locations every day. Sometimes people ask me, "Hey! What have you been up to ?" I just wanna (and have done this) give them a SYNC and point to the pictures and say "THAT'S what I've been up to." And when they ask what are you doing ___ (fill in the blank w/ day of week)? I wanna pick up a current issue, point to the many calendar items and say "THAT'S what I'm doing." There, so, nothing catty, but just a general answer. If you have to ask me, well...
SYNC's hosting a Valentine's Day Party "Shot Through the Heart" Pretty snazzy, huh? It's at Cajuns Wharf on Valentine's Day night and we're going to have a Celebrity Bachelor Auction w/ all proceeds going to Arkansas Heart Association. It's a lot of work and planning, but it's going to be a lot of fun for everybody.
I'm done after this...got a text from sister yesterday. Said they had just listened to a Stevie Nix song and my 4 yr. old niece says "That sounds like Aunt Lauren!"
So, I guess that's promising...I could start a singing career (maybe) if I ever decide to quit spending my time in the upstairs bathroom writing stories on the wall or kicking some serious tae-bo butt, or slowing down for those unmarked, decoy cars.
