Layered look great for morning at UALR.

Ashleigh Crews, 20, makes casual and comfortable appear cute and stylish. Sync recently caught up with the Benton resident on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She was heading to class and planning to indulge in a little shopping therapy afterward. Crews was dressed in simple, layered clothing with plenty of neutral colors mixed in so her grass-green T-shirt would not overwhelm the eye.
But Crews said her look also came together for practical purposes: “I haven’t done laundry in a few days ... I have to go to class, and I knew this would be suitable for the weather, too.”

Crews’ layered, red bob can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. On this day, she kept it casual by pulling her bangs to one side and securing them with a bobby pin.
Her grass-green, long T-shirt came from Target. The black, long-sleeve cropped sweater is from The Limited. These layers let Crews stay warm on cool, fall mornings. She can shed the sweater as the temperature rises during the day.
The dark denim jeans from The Limited are a good base upon which to build just about any outfit.
Ballet flats are popular this season, and these black leather ones with silver buckles came from Payless Shoe Source.
Most of Crews’ accessories complement some portion of her outfit. The red metal-rimmed glasses go with her hair and complexion; the black chokers (one of which was made by her aunt) match the other black elements in her outfit. The gold and white striped satchel was a practical choice for a busy student. “I normally would not have carried this with this outfit, but it’s big enough to carry all my stuff, including a notebook for class. So it’s gone to class with me all week,” Crews said.
