Pharmacist sports teal sweater, big handbag for holiday shopping
Tuesday, November 13, 2007
Pharmacist Emily Saulters of Bryant gathered some friends and browsed at the Junior League’s Holiday House in the Statehouse Convention Center last week. Her oversized handbag dressed up her casual jeans and was perfect for a night of Christmas shopping.
Saulters said she chose this outfit because, “It’s fun and I wanted to be festive, but somewhat casual.” She describes her overall style as trendy and classy.
The big, loose sweater is “in” this fall and the teal color is uncommon. Her accessories were minimal but with the big sweater and shiny heels, she didn’t need to add much. You can’t really see it in this picture, but there was a small strip of leather in her shoes that exactly matched the color of her sweater, and the gold earrings compliment the gold in her purse and shoes.
Top: This teal-colored mohair sweater is from RK Collections. The baggy cut and cowl neck are breathable for indoors but warm enough for outdoor wear without a jacket.
Bottom: These dark-washed denim, bootcut jeans from Express keep the outfit toned down and prevent the sweater, handbag and heels from looking too dressy.
Shoes: Her brown, copper and gold colored heels have strips of turquoise that accent the sweater. She bought the shoes from Solemates, and the pointy-heels and bright sheen match the handbag.
Accessories: Saulters said the gold hoop earrings have been a staple in her wardrobe for a long time. “I’ve had them forever,” she said. The brown, over-the-shoulder bag is perfect for toting around small Christmas gifts and long shopping lists.
