Little Rock visitor meets the city with rockin’ style.
Tuesday, October 9, 2007
L.A. Woodward, 18, of Portland, Ore., recently met with friends for coffee in the River Market. On this musician’s first day in Little Rock she wore an outfit that “reminds me of Seattle: new-age hippie/rock star,” she said. Woodward describes her style as “really laid-back,” and says most of her ensembles “go so well together because nothing actually goes together.” This eclectic look is pulled off with several hand-me-downs and borrowed pieces.
the look
Woodward wears minimal make-up for her day out with friends. Her eyes are lined with brown eyeshadow and eyelashes are blackened with one coat of mascara.
The yellow T-shirt is a hand-me-down from a friend who bought it at Fayetteville’s favorite second-hand shop, Cheap Thrills. Woodward wears it with worn jeans from American Eagle.
Woodward’s accessories, including the hairbands she wears on each wrist, only complement her comfortable style. She pulls back her long hair with a gray headband from Wal-Mart.
Woodward uses an oversized bag from Old Navy to hold everything she might need, including “Johnny Rocket’s sweatie.” She says she’s borrowing the green sweater for now, but by the gleam in her eye, I’d say that Johnny Rocket should be worried.
The shiny NYLA mint green flats are another hand-me-down from a friend and by far the flashiest part of this outfit.
