Accessories add personality to professional look
Tuesday, September 18, 2007
LaShanda Miles, 24, knows she has to maintain a “classy, professional” look for her job in the Human Resources department at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. However, she isn’t opposed to expressing herself through accessories. Spotted during a recent lunch break, Miles admitted to having a soft spot for jewelry and new fashion trends.
Wooden jewelry is a popular accessory, and Miles successfully pulls off pairing a black top with brown baubles by choosing pieces that complement her hair color and complexion.
As for the bright red shoulder bag, Miles said she decided to carry it that day because she “just thought it was in fashion.”
the look
Miles’ black satin cap-sleeve top with a bow at the neck came from Express.
A tortoise shell-colored head band helps Miles pull together her black and brown palette.
The dark denim, long capri pants are from The Gap and give Miles a leg up on making the transition from summer to fall.
The black kitten-heel pumps are by Steve Madden and dress up the outfit.
A red leather shoulder bag adds a punch of color to an otherwise neutral ensemble.
