Tres magnifique!
Little Rock’s most stylish mademoiselle.

Chloe Chantry, 18, of Lille, France, is living in Little Rock this summer as an intern for a jet company. She eats lunch with her boyfriend, Benoit Thibault, whom she took the Arkansas job to be near. The two look slightly out of place amongst the crowd. It's not completely obvious they are from the other side of the pond, but the two are quietly sophisticated and don't show any immediate signs of being from Arkansas: no flip flops, no loud voices and no Razorback paraphernalia.
Both Chantry and Thibault have been taking advantage of “The Natural State,” having gone wakeboarding the day before in Heber Springs. Surely soon, they'll be eating ribs off the bone, climbing Pinnacle Mountain and calling the Hogs.
The Look
Chantry wears a lightweight black tunic, belted, over white jeans. All of it being from fashion's favorite bargain prêt-à-porter store, H&M, stores of which are conveniently and abundantly scattered throughout France. The black, military style tunic contrasted with the bright white jeans make for a clean, hard-to-miss, easy to envy, combination.
Most, if not all, of Chantry’s jewelry are gifts from friends or family. Each piece is a classic; for example the pearl studs she describes as “discreet,” or the silver chained bracelet, a Valentine's Day present from Thibault. Her elegant accessories combined with the neutral colors of her ensemble make her appear sophisticated, perfect for work and every day. One observation that Chantry makes about fashion here in Little Rock is that people tend to dress casually during the day, then trade that in for provocative things at night. Here, she's wearing something perfectly balanced that could be worn all day and then also at night.
Perhaps the most familiar French thing to those who care about fashion, Chantry found her bag at Saint Tropez Market for a mere $10 she estimates. It's filled with everything she might need, including: work papers, a pen she got in New York City, gum, cell phone, camera, even itch cream she needs for all her new Arkansas bug bites. “They love me, “ she says. The only things Arkansas-bought are Chantry’s shoes, which she got at a local chain store known for bargains. The straw-colored woven wedges are polished up by the sleek black fabric straps, covered in tiny white polka dots.
