By Lauren Clark Jill Walls, dressed for a business trip, stopped to shop at the Holiday House in Little Rock.

LITTLE ROCK — Jill Walls may be on a business trip, but she took some time to sprinkle in a little fun with the girls. The Greensboro, N.C., native was in town for a national academic conference, staying all week at the Peabody Hotel, when she took a few minutes one afternoon to scout out the annual Holiday House event at the Statehouse Convention Center.

She chose this outfit because it was appropriate for an outing with her business colleagues. The 29-year-old was in town to present a research paper at the conference.

This outfit exudes the cool confidence we'd expect from a professional businesswoman.

Walls built her look around this gray and black plaid dress. The cap-sleeved garment came from Target, and she called it a bargain at less than $30.

It's also lined, "which is pretty good for Target," she said. The belt adds definition and small detail to her waist - making the dress somehow casual and delicately sophisticated at the same time. In anticipation of cooler weather, Walls layered a black cotton cardigan with three-quarter length sleeves, which adds another element of polish to her look.

Her cranberry colored peep-toe heels add a dash of color to match her necklace. The heels are from piperlime.com which Walls told us is an affiliate of Gap and Banana Republic. Shoppers can find designer, expensive shoes right along with bargain "run of the mill" pairs as well. Her three-strand necklace with garnet colored beads is enough to add color on top but not too much flash. An oversized bag, that at first glance looks like a purse, is actually her laptop case. A present from her mother-in-law, she does use it as a purse when it's necessary.
