Gussied up for a night out with the girls.
Tuesday, September 30, 2008
LITTLE ROCK Tonya Lewis is in the perfect setting to show off her girlie style ... a girls' night out event to enjoy shopping, refreshments, a purse swap and a fashion show. The 25-year-old Maumelle resident says she usually leans toward "classics and basics" but for this special night out, she added a little extra pizzazz to pull off this look.
Lewis said she loves to dress "girlie, feminine and modern." She usually splurges on expensive shoes and high-dollar jeans, "because they always look and fit better."
Her navy blue top is a loose sleeveless blouse made of taffeta. The beveled rhinestones are just enough glam for the evening and add enough glitz to her neckline so there's no need to search for an appropriate necklace. Also, the dainty ruffles on the straps add a feminine touch. The dark James jeans she wears with a large cuff add a bit of spunk - had she worn them unrolled, it would have been a bit more formal.
The photo doesn't do her shoes justice. The color? Petroleum Patent, and they looked just like a puddle of oil on asphalt. The platform stilettos have more height in the front than traditional stilettos, which makes them more comfortable. And Lewis should know about comfort and style as an employee of a local shoe boutique in Little Rock.
A platinum over-sized handbag gives her plenty of room for her belongings - and a little extra room should she decide to shop a bit. It blends nicely with her gold earrings and bracelet, both from Target and which she says she bought two days ago. They are her "bargain item."
