Where are you from? Where have you lived?
I grew up in Hot Springs and now I live out in the country in Saline County.
Where’d you go to school? Was it easy for you to pick major?
I graduated from UALR with bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Political Science. I knew in high school that I wanted to be a journalist, so picking my major was really easy.
What has been your worst job?
In high school I worked at a pizza place. It was hot, greasy and my boss was a jerk.
What’s your dream job?
To be a Washington correspondent for The New York Times.
When you were a kid what was your favorite toy? Would you still like to have that toy today? What happened to it?
My favorite toys as a kid were Tinker Toys, My Little Pony and Cabbage Patch Kids. I gave the ponies and the dolls to my kids. The Tinker Toys are long gone, so my dad bought them some new ones.
Do you feel like a “grown up”? If not, do you think you ever will? If yes, when did that happen?
Strangely, getting married, having a baby, getting a mortgage, none of those really changed my “grown-up” feelings. It was the first time I had to sign a school permission slip for my son.
If you could travel or live anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why?
I’ve always wanted to go to Paris. It’s just so beautiful and romantic.
What is your most embarrassing moment or a funny story your family always tells about you?
I’d be crazy to tell anybody that.
Do you have any pets? Do you share any of their personality traits?
A dog, a cat and a fish. The cat and I both like to lay in the sun.
Any hobbies?
Photography and taking roadtrips.
Any food or cooking-related disaster stories?
Once, my friend and I accidentally cooked some brownies on the pre-heat setting. We thought it would be okay to eat them anyway. It wasn’t.
